The Friends of St Ninian's wish to thank everyone who helped with and attended this summer's hugely successful "Deerness in 100 Objects" project - a fantastic community effort of which Deerness can be proud.

Week 3 Highlights
Well that's us halfway through our six week project now and the pace just keeps on going. This week as well as continued good numbers visiting the exhibition and Mermaid Cafe, we were also really delighted to become temporary caretakers for object number 101 - a norse gaming board discovered as part of the 2011 archaeological dig on the Brough of Deerness. Week 2 Highlights
Well that's two weeks out of our six week project gone already! This past week we've had a visit from Museums Service staff members Sheila Garson and Janette Park who came along with a Mystery Box of Deerness Delights, we've entertained a family of Vikings at the Hall, given a glimpse into the history of farming in Deerness, guddled in the ebb at Dingieshowe to see what creatures were lurking under the rocks and seen lots and lots of folk at the exhibition and cafe at the Hall!
